No Surprises Act: Employee Impact & Broker Fee Disclosure
Duration: 45 Minutes
In this upcoming webinar, CFOs, HR leaders, insurance brokers and employers are invited to join Mployer Advisor CEO and Founder Brian Freeman in discussion with James Bristol and Stacy Clark-Hooper of Waller, a Nashville, Tennessee-based law firm that specializes in healthcare and financial services.
Together, our panel will discuss the No Surprises Act, specifically section 202(c) that relates to brokerage transparency. Our speakers will also examine the impact of balance billing, including the toll it can take on employees.
A new protection in the No Surprises Act will ban “surprise” balance billing beginning on or after January 1st, 2022. On average, 18% of emergency department visits result in at least one surprise bill, but the rate varies by state.
By the end of this webinar, audience members will have a better grasp of how agents and brokers should increase transparency and what this new protection plan means for employees.
In this webinar, we will discuss:
- Balance billing and its impact on employers and employees
- How employees can settle payment disputes and who regulates them
- Section 202(c) of the No Surprises Act on broker disclosures
- What the next few months will look like and the steps you can take to prepare
